Global green energy resource producer Luyu Pro will sell green ammonia worth trillions of won to Mako Corporation in Thailand.

On the 29th, LUPRO announced that it had signed a contract with Mako Corporation to sell and supply 5 million tons of green ammonia worth $4.5 billion (about 6.2 trillion won) over 10 years at the Lotte City Hotel in Seoul. Makro Corporation is a global energy trading company that distributes oil, coal, and natural gas resources in Southeast Asia and Europe, including Thailand. It is quickly promoting the introduction of green energy in the face of the coming era of decarbonization.

Lyupro said that through this sales contract, it has been able to preempt the demand for eco-friendly energy from global companies preparing for the carbon-neutral era. To meet the demand for green energy conversion from global companies, LUPRO is establishing a joint venture, LUPRO-Oman, in Oman, the Middle East. The company plans to produce 1 million tons of green hydrogen ammonia per year in Duhuk, Oman, using electricity generated from a 2GW renewable energy complex that utilizes Oman's abundant sunlight.

“We will lead the green energy resource market by responding to the climate crisis facing the world and expanding the supply of hydrogen energy, an essential resource for achieving carbon neutrality, to the domestic, Asian, and global markets,” said Seho Kim, CEO of LUPRO.
