Thai military confirms practical application of AI cameras
Introducing video surveillance equipment for military security operations
[Seoul Economic Daily TV = Intern Reporter Kim Min-young] Artificial intelligence (AI) camera venture company LUPRO announced on the 9th that it will supply AI cameras to the Royal Thai Armed Forces' 1st Fleet Command and 1st Squadron Command.
Key Thai military officials, including the Royal Thai Armed Forces and the Commander of the Security Command, verified the LUPRO AI camera's ability to perform ultra-long-range surveillance even in extreme environments such as fog, rain, and at night, confirming its practical applicability.
Thailand experiences an average annual rainfall of over 2,400mm and poor weather conditions, such as thick fog, which hinders visibility. Therefore, the need for state-of-the-art video surveillance equipment for military security operations has been raised.
LUPRO has advanced defog, gimbal, and thermal imaging technologies by incorporating a proprietary FPGA-based image processing core board.
This has enabled the acquisition of ultra-long-range, high-resolution images and stable target tracking. It is expected to enhance military operational capabilities, particularly as it can demonstrate surveillance capabilities even in adverse weather conditions and at night.
An LUPPRO representative stated, "We have completed preparations for a Proof of Concept (POC) for deployment at the frontline of the Thai border," and "We have also completed procedures for supplying the system to the Royal Thai Armed Forces."
LUPPRO Chairman Kim Se-ho emphasized, "Based on LUPPRO's AI video surveillance technology, we will actively advance into the global defense market. We will take the lead in securing an integrated surveillance solution optimized for security and modern warfare environments using cutting-edge technology."
